Al is a partner who practises in the areas of corporate and securities law with an emphasis on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions, as well as advising companies with respect to securities regulatory compliance matters. Al routinely acts as counsel to both issuers and investment dealers. Al articled at a major energy corporation headquartered in Toronto, later joining the corporate finance department where he gained extensive experience drafting and negotiating financial and physical commodity and other agreements. While a student at Western Law, Al was awarded a number of academic awards, including the Dean Ivan C. Rand Honour Society Award (selection based upon meritorious academic standing throughout undergraduate years in law and outstanding contributions in the service of Faculty of Law students), the Mary Warner Prize in Human Rights Law and the Criminal Lawyers' Association Prize in Criminal Law.
