Amir practices primarily in the areas of corporate/commercial and securities law, with a particular emphasis on corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and other corporate commercial transactions.
Amir represents clients in a wide variety of industries and is actively involved in the emerging cannabis and blockchain/cryptocurrency industries. He has acted for both issuer and underwriter clients in connection with a variety of matters including public offerings and private placements of equity and debt, public take-overs and going private transactions and start-up advice.
Amir has assisted a broad range of cannabis industry participations, including licensed producers, producer applicants and a range of ancillary businesses in the sector including entrepreneurs and cannabis brands. He is a contributor to the Canadian Greenscape (www.canadiangreenscape.ca) which provides a snapshot of the legal cannabis industry in Canada
Amir joined the firm as a summer student in 2015 and completed his articles with the firm in 2017. During his articles, Amir completed a secondment in the Corporate Finance Branch of the Ontario Securities Commission.
In 2016, Amir founded the You Can Play Project’s Young Professionals Network, which has raised $20,000 for the project to date.
