Ellen practices in the area of corporate/commercial and securities law with an emphasis on corporate finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions as well as general business law matters. Ellen has acted on public offerings and private placements of equity and debt securities, take-over bids, matters relating to corporate governance, registration and compliance, and arrangements in connection with going-public transactions such as qualifying transactions and reverse take-overs through the facilities of the TSX Venture Exchange.Background
Ellen joined the firm as a summer student in 2009 and completed her articles with the firm in 2011. Prior to attending law school, Ellen spent two years working on the Governance and Agreement Management team for a large financial institution and as a Project Manager for a national consulting firm.While attending law school, Ellen volunteered at the Community Legal Aid Clinic, Pro Bono Students Canada and participated in the Intellectual Property Legal Information Network, providing legal information for entrepreneurs. She was also actively involved with the Students' Law Society where she co-chaired and participated as a member of several committees.
