Geoffrey is a partner practising corporate/commercial and securities law with a focus on investment funds and structured products, corporate finance and related merger and acquisition activities, as well as general business law matters.
Geoffrey has experience representing a broad range of asset managers, investment dealers, private equity and venture capital sponsors, alternative finance platforms and distribution portals engaging in a variety of offerings covering multiple asset classes including fixed income, equity, commodity, hedge and alternative products.
This includes advising on initial structuring and fund formation, corporate governance, the use of derivatives, registration and compliance as well as regulatory matters.
Throughout 2009 to 2011, Geoffrey was seconded to Claymore Investments, Inc., an investment fund manager and exempt market dealer specializing in exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and closed-end funds (CEFs), where he served as general corporate counsel.
Geoffrey is supervising counsel for the Osgoode Hall Venture Clinic, and has lectured at law schools and presented at industry conferences. Prior to attending Osgoode Hall Law School, Geoffrey spent several years working as a financial advisor at a Canadian financial institution.
Geoffrey has completed the Canadian Securities Course and is fluently bilingual in English and French.
Canadian FinTech Awards 2016 Winner - Hosted by the Digital Finance Institute, a Canadian FinTech think tank, the 2nd Annual FinTech Awards celebrates Canadian innovation and thought leadership in FinTech. The 2016 Professional Services Award was accepted by Geoffrey at an Awards gala presentation held at the Fairmont Royal York, Toronto on November 21, 2016.
FinTech Leadership Series - The Regulator Sandbox Breakfast - Wildeboer Dellelce hosts the Digital Finance Institute's inaugural dialogue disscussing the Regulatory Sandbox and the Ontario Securities Commision's LaunchPad. The leadership guest, Kosta Peric, deputy director at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, credited as one of the chief instigators for the global “regulatory sandbox” initiative and the chief architect of the worldwide network for the SWIFT payment system.
