Nick practises in the areas of securities, asset management and corporate/commercial with an emphasis on corporate finance transactions and structured products. He has acted on a variety of securities, structured products and related transactions representing both issuers and investment dealers, including public and private financings, closed-end funds and mergers and acquisitions.Background
Nick joined the firm as a summer student in 2009 and completed his articles with the firm in 2011. He obtained both his LL.B. and B.Comm (Finance) from the University of Ottawa. While at law school, Nick was the recipient of the Tax Executives Institute Prize for highest standing in international taxation and the Osler Hoskin &Harcourt LLP Prize for highest standing in advanced taxation. Prior to and while attending law school, Nick spent several years working as a collection officer at the Canada Revenue Agency. Nick has continued to pursue his interest in finance and investment management, recently earning the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute.
