Profile

Rob is a partner whose practice is focused on corporate and securities law, primarily relating to corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions mandates for underwriters and a broad range of public and private companies in diverse industries, including automotive, software development, local search, manufacturing, media, gaming, technology and real estate. His practice consists of advising on securities and business law matters, with particular focus on domestic and cross-border corporate finance and merger & acquisition transactions. On an ongoing basis, Rob advises a number of Canadian reporting issuers in connection with securities compliance and corporate governance matters. Robert also counsels corporations in all aspects of corporate and commercial activity, including listings on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange and dealings with provincial securities commissions.

Background

Rob obtained his LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario and his Honours B.Sc. (Science & Business) from the University of Waterloo. While at Western Law, Rob was a contributing author for The Annotated Personal Property Security Act, Secured Transactions in Personal Property in Canada (2nd ed.), and Canadian Commercial Reorganization: Preventing Bankruptcy. Rob is a guest lecturer for Western Law’s Case Studies in Business Law course.

Rob was a member of the Public Selection Committee for the 2007 Canadian Venture Forum. He has been, since its inception, a member of the organizational committee for Massive Party, a charitable event in support of the Art Gallery of Ontario and he was also an organizer of the Cottage Dreams Cancer Recovery Initiative’s inaugural golf tournament in 2007.
