Ryan practises in the firm's Debt Products Group with a primary focus in the areas of banking, secured financing and corporate/commercial law.
Ryan has acted for both lenders and borrowers in connection with various types of debt financing transactions (including syndicated, non-syndicated, secured, non-secured, domestic, cross-border and revolving and term credit facilities) and has advised clients on an array of other corporate/commercial matters.
Ryan has acted on behalf of clients in a variety of sectors, such as financial services, technology, real estate and consulting.
Ryan joined the firm as a summer student in 2014 and completed his articles with the firm in 2016. From August 2016 to April 2017, Ryan was on secondment to CI Financial where he worked in the internal legal department.
While attending law school at Queen’s University, Ryan completed a joint program to obtain his Master of Arts in Economics and received the Skelton-Clark Prize in Law and Economics. At Queen’s, Ryan played for the Faculty of Law hockey team and was a volunteer editor for the Queen’s Law Journal and the Canadian Labour and Employment Law Journal.
